Madeleine Philippe Memorial Week
Saturday 3rd to Sunday 11th March 2012.

We would like to invite all Madeleine’s fans and lovers of Mauritian Cuisine worldwide to celebrate Madeleine’s life and the amazing culinary legacy she has left, by taking part in the Madeleine Philippe Memorial Week which runs from Saturday 3rd to Sunday 11th March 2012.

You can participate simply by choosing one or more of her recipes http://ile-maurice.tripod.com to cook for your family, friends and

customers during the “Madeleine Philippe Memorial Week”. After the event, we would be delighted to receive an email telling us about the chosen recipes, with the option of including photos of your family, friends and customers celebrating.

We will publish an album of a selection of the best photos on our web site. This event will also be advertised and followed up with articles in the Mauritius Australia Connection monthly “Rougaille Newsletter”.

As most of you will know, we lost Madeleine in February 2011, to cancer after a 5 year long, hard and courageous battle but her legacy lives on.  Her excellent web site “Recipes from Mauritius” continues to provide help to her thousands of fans worldwide as to how to cook and prepare the delicious Mauritian dishes that we all enjoy. Husband Clancy continues her work, putting online the many other recipes from her notebooks.

PREPARATION IS PARAMOUNT!

We invite you to start preparation for the “Madeleine Philippe Memorial Week” by nominating a day during this week on which to remember Madeleine in this very special way. Please email Clancy at clancy@cjp.net with details of your chosen dish or dishes, the proposed date and how you will be celebrating the event.

Your participation would be a tremendous boost and comfort for husband Clancy especially at a time when one year on, the anniversary of Madeleine’s passing comes around.  Let’s make it a time to celebrate her life and continue her work, bringing the secrets of our famous Mauritian Cuisine to the table.

Thank you in anticipation of your taking part.  On behalf of the family, Madeleine herself and Clancy, we wish you Bon Appetit. She will be watching!

After the event, do not forget to send Clancy your stories and of course the photos at clancy@cjp.net

Note: If you cannot celebrate as per above, a small donation to the Madeleine Philippe Cancer Foundation (Aus) Inc. would be most appreciated. Please use the secure PayPal donation button.
